The entire racing program was the focus of the Independence Day weekend

AZTEC – The holiday weekend was a cause for celebration Saturday night at Aztec Speedway, where 360 ​​non-wing sprint cars took center stage on the three-eighths-mile track.

Colt Treharn took Aztec Speedway over Los Lunas to win the main event in the 360 ​​Non-Wing division, defeating Caleb Stelzig, Don Grable, Michael Fanelli and Robert Marfia. The Non-Wing Mini Sprints closed out the evening with Glen Holmes, of Grand Junction, Colorado, taking the win ahead of Keelan Mathews and Josh Huish.

In the Northern Sportmods main event, Aaron Spangler took his second win of the season at this track, beating Jackson Harpole, Keelan Matthews, Alex Sutherlin and Camron Spangler at the finish.

The stock cars were probably the race of the evening, with Robert Reed from Cortez winning just ahead of Allen Bradley. The leading duo were followed by Traci Bradley, Jay Kibel and Nathan Lemons.

In the Modifieds, Julian Garcia took the 80th win of his career when he crossed the finish line ahead of Travis Sutherlin, Paul Campos, Korey Brewer and Devin Roquemore.

Kyler Duggins of Farmington took victory in the Hobby Stock Class main race, followed by Evan Ray, Michael Bray and Jason Duggins. Since 2022, Kyler Duggins has finished in the top five 42 times in 46 main race starts.

Shane DeVilbiss took the win in the Dwarf/Modlite class, followed by Clay Goben, Cauy Ludwig and Terry Christensen. Katie Barthel secured the win in the Sport Compact class, followed by Alfred Hicks, Dustin Craig, Clayton Tillia and Paul Campos.

Aztec Speedway returns the weekend of July 26-27 with the first appearance of the POWRI 360 Wing Sprint Cars this season. Fairgrounds Speedway in Cortez returns this weekend with the Jesse “JD” Minor Memorial. Racing for this weekend’s programs begins at 6:30 p.m.

Kart Kanyon returns to racing on Saturday after races on June 21 and 22 were cancelled due to rain.
