Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has donated Rs 25 lakhs to Glory, daughter of Padma Bhushan awardee Gurmeet Bawa. The singer recently made headlines when she shared a video about her financial problems. Talking about the actor’s help, Glory said, “It will definitely help me and my family. But I want work and I have asked for it. People have started reaching out to me and I hope that artists like us will find something meaningful to do.”

The actor commented on this and explained: “I came to know about it from social media. Bahot dukh hua ki gurmeet bawa ji jo punjab ki shaan thi a man who is struggling with financial problems. Maine isn’t it Glory Bawa I am samajh I just made my gesture. Yes I can’t help but help I am Punjabi and I am an artist teach me what I mean.”

The superstar, who played the lead role in the last film ‘Bade Miya Chote Miyan’, had a meeting with Jackky Bhagnani and requested that his pay be suspended until the entire cast and crew are paid.

“Akshay Sir met with me recently to discuss this matter. When Akshay Sir came to know about this situation, he did not hesitate to step forward and show his support for the crew. He has insisted that his payments be suspended until every single crew member working on our projects has received their full and final pay. We are incredibly grateful for Akshay Sir’s understanding and willingness to stand by us during this time. The film business depends on strong relationships and that is the spirit we want to foster in the industry,” says Jackky Bhagnani – on behalf of all the producers of the film.
