New York property developer Michael Shvo’s dispute with the posh, members-only Core Club takes an ugly turn

New York property developer Michael Shvo’s dispute with the posh, members-only Core Club takes an ugly turn

Michael Shvo cannot find a minute’s peace.

As we reported on June 27, he is facing a $600 million lawsuit from Core Club over an alleged “sinister” fraud scheme tied to the club’s 711 Fifth Ave. location.

Shvo called the lawsuit a “desperate attempt to buy the club’s owners out of ‘binding agreements’,” which he said included the club not repaying its debts and attempting to deny him the option to purchase 50 percent of the company.

As we have now learned, the club’s lawyers have informed Shvo and his wife Seren Shvo that they are prohibited from entering the premises of which he is the landlord.

Shvo allegedly owes the Core Club $80,000 for his services, including use of its premises for dinners and birthday parties. It’s a small part of the lawsuit, but the easiest for laypeople to understand.

A source told Realty Check the day after the lawsuit was filed that a settlement was in the works, but the Fourth of July fireworks came and went without a deal.

Meanwhile, Shvo is also being sued by his former friend Serdan Bilgili for control of two Aman residences developed by Shvo in Manhattan.

And Page Six reported last week that a resident of Shvo’s Mandarin Oriental wrote to Shvo’s lawyers that Shvo was unjustly hosting a rooftop party as if the property was his “personal fiefdom.” Shvo said the party was a promotional tool to sell more condos in the building.

Apartment owner John Goodman (not the actor) had also previously claimed that his $6.1 million apartment was full of defects.
