Michigan Football expected to replace elite DB from Notre Dame

Michigan Football expected to replace elite DB from Notre Dame

The Michigan football team suffered some recruiting setbacks earlier this month, but it appears the Wolverines are getting back on track.

Head coach Sherrone Moore made two posts on X on Sunday, dropping two hints about her commitment to Michigan football. One of them appears to be Andrew Olesh, the four-star tight end from Pennsylvania who announced his commitment on Monday.

But when Moore posted a second time, people wondered who he was talking about. Phillip Wright, a three-star wide receiver from Louisiana, is expected to announce his commitment on July 11.

However, there is more good news for Michigan, as Steve Wiltfong, one of the leading recruiting experts, and also EJ Holland of The Wolverine have predicted that Notre Dame commit Ivan Taylor will join the Wolverines in the class of 2025.

Taylor is a 6-foot-3, 175-pound safety who is ranked No. 50 in the class of 2025 according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. He visited the Michigan football team in June and there were rumors that the Wolverines were gaining momentum.

JaDon Blair has been a top target for Michigan football and Notre Dame players. He recently committed to Notre Dame and the Irish have been stocking up on defensive backs. Maybe that’s a consideration for Taylor, but Taylor is one of the top-ranked defensive backs in the entire 2025 class and would be a huge asset for the Wolverines.

When Wiltfong makes a prediction like this, a commitment usually follows, so stay tuned because now is flip season for Michigan football.
