Many on the panel had already suspected that it was footballer Owen who said: “When I first came out here, I found it nerve-wracking to take a penalty for England, but you guys were far worse.”

Doughnuts was one of the judges’ favorite artists during the series and managed to make up for his lack of singing talent with enthusiastic performances.

However, when they ended up in the last two against Rockhopper and Firework had already lost the audience vote, they decided to keep the strong singer Rockhopper.

The jury was thrilled by the revelations. (Bandicoot TV)

Alexander laughed at Davina McCall’s suggestion that Jennifer Lawrence could be Firework, but told him: “You can laugh, of course, but Ne-Yo was in the last series.”

Viewers were once again impressed by Mushroom and there were speculations as to who might be behind the mask, including Charlotte Church, Sheridan Smith and Paloma Faith.

Next week marks the semi-final of season three, which will select the mystery contestants hoping to join previous season winners Nicola Roberts and Joss Stone.
