Actor Sai Dharam Tej highlights child abuse on the internet, Telangana Chief Minister promises action | News from India

Telangana Police has filed an FIR after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his deputy Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said they would take appropriate action on the social media issue of child abuse raised by Telugu actor Sai Dharam Tej.

Telangana Director General of Police Ravi Gupta said an FIR has been filed with Telangana Cyber ​​Security Bureau over the “inappropriate” comments made about a child and strict action will follow.

“We are committed to protecting all citizens, especially children. Offenders who misuse social media for their humour will be brought to justice and our team @TelanganaCOPs is identifying them with great care. Telangana Govt @TelanganaCMO and Police will intensify efforts to create awareness on #ChildSafety and responsible use of social media,” Telangana DGP said in a post on ‘X’.

Earlier, the actor had reacted to a netizen’s post about a Telugu YouTuber’s “inappropriate” comments on a video purportedly showing a man and a girl, saying, “This is beyond cruel, disgusting and scary.” Tej wrote in a post on ‘X’, “Monsters like these go unnoticed on the widely used social platform that commits child abuse under the guise of so-called fun and gratitude. Child safety is the need of the hour.”

The actor called on the Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and urged them to take necessary measures to prevent such cruel acts in the future.

Revanth Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka thanked Tej for raising the issue and said that child safety is the Telangana government’s top priority and promised to take appropriate action. “Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention @IamSaiDharamTej garu. Child safety is our government’s top priority. We will investigate this incident and take appropriate action,” Reddy wrote on ‘X’, reacting to the actor’s post.

Vikramarka wrote in a post on ‘X’, “Thank you for raising this critical issue @IamSaiDharamTej garu. Child safety is indeed a top priority. We will ensure that our government takes necessary steps to prevent child abuse and exploitation on social media platforms. Let us work together to create a safer online environment for our children.
