Arsenal are attempting to sign Wolves goalkeeper and former Gunners youth player Dan Bentley this summer as they look for a replacement for David Raya.

Nixon adds that the player may also be interested in a move as Arsenal’s third choice, with the journalist claiming that the Gunners will likely struggle to find a taker for Aaron Ramsdale at the price they want.

Arsenal reportedly value Ramsdale at £50 million and if they cannot sell him for that price, Bentley would likely be their third choice.

Signing Bentley has several potential benefits. Firstly, he has Premier League experience. Despite playing as a substitute for Wolves this season, he has made five appearances, including a game against Arsenal.

In addition, Bentley is a home-grown player and completed his football training at Arsenal FC.

The 30-year-old played for Arsenal as a youth player between 2001 and 2008 before moving into professional football with Southend United.

Bentley then played for then Championship sides Brentford and Bristol City before finally being promoted back to the Premier League in 2022.

Arsenal are also interested in Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia this summer, but that move seems more dependent on Ramsdale’s departure. Bentley’s signing seems a more realistic option, regardless of the final decision on the English goalkeeper.
