The exclusive BBC iPlayer video also pays tribute to the highs and lows of the iconic 90s group, from their first number one hit to Spiceworld: The Movie, from meeting Nelson Mandela and Prince Charles to the devastating moment when it all ended.

A moment that we truly remember as if it were only yesterday.

Edith Bowman narrates the documentary, in which stars such as Jess Glynne (who admits to being “obsessed” with the group), MØ, Alexandra Burke, Scott Mills and Nadine Coyle of Girls Aloud talk about the influence of the Spice Girls on them and their careers.

Kimberly Wyatt from the Pussycat Dolls also appears on the show and says: “It was just popilicious!

“Every little move they made, everything they represented, was just really brave and powerful and amazing, and for girls all over the world – and I remember being that girl – it was just like there was finally something that was really kicking girls’ butts.”

DJ Clara Amfo also explained the influence the Spice Girls had on her: “I’m a woman of colour and I think it was really special for me to see someone like Mel B in a really popular British girl band.”

James Stirling, editor of BBC Music, described the group as a “pop music phenomenon” and added: “‘Spice Girls Superfans’ offers a fascinating insight into the lasting impact they have had on the artists of today.”

“So many of today’s pop stars cite her as an influence and I’m glad we can bring them together on our exclusive BBC iPlayer.”
