Viewers scream with joy when Dionne Warwick is unmasked and sent home from the show in the first episode

Viewers were stunned on Saturday night when it turned out that one of the masked singers on the British version of the hit show was music legend Dionne Warwick – and was sent home after just one episode.

Weather had previously appeared on the show, heavily disguised, but when she began singing, many viewers at home and most of the show’s four judges immediately suspected that it was probably Warwick.

She was one of six costumed celebrities who took the stage in the first episode of the new series and became one of three artists who were threatened with being sent home in the final minutes of the show.

After the judges decided to save another contestant and she lost the vote between the final two, “Weather” was revealed to be a veteran five-time Grammy winner and Burt Bacharach muse. With a smile on her face, she didn’t seem shocked to be going home, leading viewers on social media to speculate that she had made a single performance a condition of her appearance on the British show.

The sun The newspaper quotes several fans who wrote on social media:

“If Dionne Warwick is the first to be voted out of #MaskedSingerUK, there needs to be a 1 week contract for those who want to take part, but not for too long. Unless they just don’t want to spend another week pretending Weather isn’t them?”

A second said: “Dionne Warwick apparently had a ‘one episode only’ contract.”

And a third added: “#TheMaskedSinger is definitely a rigging! They knew it was Dionne Warwick and would have left her in because she is the legend that she is. Something fishy is going on.”

Warwick previously appeared on The Masked Singer She came to the US as a mouse in 2020, where she was just as quickly exposed. At the time, she said:

“Unfortunately, it’s quite difficult to disguise my voice in this case, and since they recognized my voice, there’s nothing I can do about it.”
