In an effort to make amends for his past mistakes, Shoya makes new friends and reconnects with old classmates, including Tomohiro Nagatsuka, who eventually becomes a close buddy. When Shoya first meets Yuzuru, Shoko’s younger sister, she is initially distrustful of him, but eventually recognizes his genuine remorse.

Overcoming challenges:

As they confront their past, Shoya and Shoko encounter numerous difficulties. A turning point is when Shoko attempts to commit suicide and Shoya realizes how much his actions have hurt her. After saving Shoko from her suicide attempt, Shoya falls into a river and temporarily falls into a coma. His family and friends support him in his recovery.

Redemption and forgiveness:

When Shoya awakens from his coma, a meaningful reconciliation takes place between him and Shoko. They begin to forgive and heal each other.
In the epilogue, Shoya is seen attending the school festival with his friends. He realizes that he can move on with his life and that he is no longer alone.

“A Silent Voice” is a touching film that tackles complex emotional issues with sensitivity and care.
