Wicklow’s famous lavender sale takes place every weekend in July

If you’re dreaming of a trip to the French countryside but can’t really get away, head to Wicklow instead!

The popular Lavender Sale is back in July, so take the time to stop by and check out the products that will add a wonderful scent to your home.

Last weekend saw the start of the Lavender Festival, hosted each year by Fragrances of Ireland in Kilmacanogue, Co. Wicklow. The aromatic spectacle takes place every weekend until July 28th, so you have plenty of time to plan a little road trip.

The Wicklow-based company has been growing lavender at the foot of Little Sugar Loaf for over 20 years and extracting oil from the plants for use in a variety of perfume production.

In 2022, they launched their brand “LAVÓ,” sold exclusively at Thanksgiving, which includes hand cream, cologne and lavender oil, as well as a heat pad filled with lavender and Wicklow wheat—a sleep aid that relaxes tired muscles.

Items can be gift wrapped and boxed, while fresh lavender bouquets can be shipped anywhere in the country for a small postage fee.

As well as plants for your own lavender garden, you can also buy other traditional handmade delights such as candles, homemade soaps, honey from the lavender fields and even raspberries from Wicklow. There really is something for everyone.

Fragrances of Ireland will also sell the now world-renowned range of Inis colognes; home fragrances will also be available for purchase.

New in 2024 is the organizer’s Inis showroom, where fans can get their hands on shower gel, diffusers, body lotions and other fantastic products in addition to the well-known fragrance.

The event runs until Sunday 28 July, with the market open every weekend from 10am-5pm. Jameson’s Corner, where the annual event is held, is located in Kilmacanogue, Co. Wicklow, and can be found if you turn left on the N11 after the sign for AVOCA Handweavers.

So why not escape for a while? A great place to go with your mom or your girlfriends!
