“There won’t be a dry eye” when the famous show comes to Liverpool

A renowned show that regularly sells out is coming to Liverpool this year.

Tickets for Backyard Cinema’s September city centre screenings of Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 Romeo + Juliet are now on sale. After the film was seen by over 100,000 fans during its London season, the exclusive screening week will take place at the beautiful Grade II listed St George’s Hall.

The film’s famous soundtrack is brought to life by live musicians and a choir before the film, during intermission and after the screening. Enjoy popular tunes such as Young Hearts Run Free, Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good), When Doves Cry and many more.

Dominic Davies, Founder and CEO of Backyard Cinema, said: “I can’t wait to bring Liverpool our most famous show Romeo + Juliet with a live choir and where better to host this epic event than at St George’s Hall in Liverpool. It really is a special show and I couldn’t be more excited.”

Hannah Sweeney, Head of Events at St George’s Hall, added: “We knew the splendour and opulence of St George’s Hall would be the perfect setting for their epic Romeo and Juliet show. After seeing it in London, we knew we had to host it because there won’t be a dry eye in the house.”

Space at each screening is strictly limited and organisers have warned that tickets are likely to sell out quickly. Tickets are available for £29.50 at backyardcinema.co.uk/romeo-juliet
