Anime fans breathed a collective sigh of relief earlier this week when Ito confirmed that Uzumaki would be released on Adult Swim sometime later this year. Speaking to JapanTimesIto confirmed that the first of the four episodes of the anime miniseries is finished and has lived up to his expectations. This remark not only reassured fans who have long felt that anime cannot properly adapt to the shock and discomfort of Ito’s works, but also addressed the reason why the anime was delayed in 2021.

At that time, the anime official X/Twitter account released a statement on Uzumaki’s third delay, saying Production IG needed more time to ensure that “the quality of the intricate designs and detailed linework” of Uzumaki was restored.

Uzumaki tells the story of a high school student named Kirie Goshima who and her boyfriend uncover the truth behind a mysterious spiral pattern that haunts their hometown.
