Washington, PA — Making his career debut, Sippinonsearoc trailed by six lengths at the halfway point but produced a powerful first-over move that carried him to victory in the Pop-Up Series for young colt and gelding pacers on Saturday (July 6) at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows in a series-best time of 1:53.3.

Pants On Fire and Twin B High Tide, both ridden by Austin Hanners, also won $10,000 to give the first-timers a win in the second race. Hanners put the cherry on top by taking an owner’s win on the night with In Rock We Trust.

Ron Burke trains Sippinonsearoc for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, RAS Racing and Knox Services.

Pants On Fire found himself in a similar situation, 7.5 lengths behind at the halfway point. But he took the live first-over cover from Papi’s Rocket, then passed him in the homestretch and defeated him by half a length in 1:53.4. Early leader Blue Ventura earned the win.

Brian Brown trains Pants On Fire, a son of Catch The Fire-American Myth, for Douglas Overhiser, VIP Internet Stable, William Johnson II and Kalinoski Stable.

In Saturday’s $21,200 Open Handicap Trot, Tequila Talkin defeated challenger Guido Di by a head in 1 minute, 53.2 seconds for Hunter Myers, trainer Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi. Double Account completed the ticket. Tequila Talkin, a 9-year-old gelding by Cantab Hall-Margarita Nights, has now won 56 races and $620,211 in his career.
