We are shocked by the news of Khyree JacksonDeath following a car crash overnight. While we work to gather more information, we have spoken with Khyree’s family and offered the support of the Minnesota Vikings. We have also shared the news with Vikings players, coaches and staff and offered counseling for those needing emotional support. Our thoughts are with Khyree’s family, friends, teammates and coaches, and all the victims of this tragic accident.

I was deeply shocked by this news. Khyree brought a contagious energy to our facility and team. His confidence and engaging personality immediately drew his teammates. In our short time together, it was clear that Khyree would develop into a great professional football player, but even more impressive was his desire to become the best person he could be for his family and those around him. The loss of Khyree breaks my heart. When we got to know him leading up to the draft, it was clear what goals Khyree wanted to achieve both professionally and personally. His story was one of resilience. He took steps to become the best version of himself, not only for himself, but for those who cared about him and looked up to him.
