Sam’s Club member rages: ‘Rules are rules’ after retailer cancels membership

Sam’s Club member rages: ‘Rules are rules’ after retailer cancels membership

A SAM’S Club member said her membership was revoked the same day she first logged into the account.

A shopper from Arkansas complained on Facebook about the lack of transparency in canceling her membership.

“How can you permanently cancel your Sam’s Club membership when you were NEVER a member?!” she wrote.

“Sam needs to talk to me about this! It doesn’t make sense that no one has an explanation for me!

“I LITERALLY paid for the membership, got my account number, logged into the app and everything this morningand then a few hours later, none of it is valid!” she said in a post from a year ago.

The US Sun has asked Sam’s Club for comment.

However, according to the retailer’s official website, there is a right to revoke membership without giving any reason.

“Sam’s Club Home office reserves the right to accept, refuse or revoke membership without giving any reason,” the retailer said.

The retailer said punishable offenses include writing bad checks, shoplifting and violent behavior.

Other criminal offenses include questionable returns and obscene or offensive language towards an employee.

However, the buyer said she never did any of this.

“Mind you, I have never written a bad check, shoplifted, disrespected or abused any of their customers or employees, or done anything else that is on their list of reasons for revocation because WHY, you may ask? I WAS NEVER A MEMBER!” she said.

“You can’t checkout,” Sam’s Club members warn, as shoppers must pay extra to shop early under store rules

“I have never done such things in ANY establishment! And what’s worse, I don’t like being publicly humiliated. So I wouldn’t even THINK about doing something like that!” she added.

When she raised the matter with her supervisor, his response was very dismissive.

“The supervisor in Bentonville, Arkansas was VERY dismissive and told me in an unpleasant tone, ‘Those are the rules and that’s the way it is!'”

“She told me that I should have received a registered letter and an email explaining the reason for the revocation and that it was the highest escalation level and therefore I could not speak to anyone else,” she said.

However, the buyer wondered how she could even receive a registered letter if she had only completed her registration earlier that same day.

The US Sun has written about other terrible customer experiences at Sam’s Club.

For example, a buyer threatened to cancel his membership because the wrong credit card had been charged for the policy.

Shoppers even found that certain purchases were subject to additional weight-based fees.
