Chris Jericho reveals why AEW’s travel arrangements are superior to WWE’s

AEW has been in business for over five years now and originally debuted as a true alternative to WWE. There are many differences between the two companies. In fact, Chris Jericho has now revealed that AEW’s travel arrangements are superior to those of WWE.

Chris Jericho has been a part of AEW since day one and he is proud to be a member of the team, especially since he carried the company on his shoulders during its first year as the first AEW World Champion.

Speaking to Neal Brennan, Chris Jericho talked about the differences between working for WWE and AEW, pointing out the challenges and benefits. He explained that the schedule in WWE was very hectic, as you often worked Friday through Monday and occasionally Tuesday, which involved traveling to different cities, driving, and renting cars. When AEW started, the schedule improved significantly, as you initially only worked Wednesdays and later Saturdays as well.

Jericho praised the Khan family for treating the talent more like a sports team by taking care of travel arrangements, including hotels and cars, which made traveling much easier compared to WWE. Jericho mentioned the benefit of flying into a city and leaving the next day, as opposed to the WWE schedule where you have to drive long distances between cities and manage travel expenses yourself.

“When I worked at WWE, sometimes we would work Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, and maybe even Tuesdays every now and then. That schedule was crazy, absolutely crazy. Different town, different city, driving, renting our own cars, all that stuff. When AEW started, that was one of the things: we only work Wednesdays. Now we work Wednesdays and Saturdays, but it’s still a lot better. Our boss, the Khan family, also owns the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Fulham Football Club in England, so they treat us a lot more like a sports team. We’re taken care of a lot better, with hotels, cars, all that stuff is taken care of, which wasn’t the case with WWE.”

“It makes traveling a lot easier. Plus, it’s a lot better to just fly into a city and leave the next day than to fly into a city on Friday, pick up a car, drive 250 miles somewhere on Saturday, drive another 200 miles somewhere on Sunday, drive 250 miles somewhere else on Monday to get there, return the car on Tuesday in a city 15 damn states away from where you bought it, and have to pay for it all.”

Chris Jericho also pointed out that Mexican fans don’t care about ratings at all. Despite this, Jericho is more than happy with his current position in AEW and the difference between the company and WWE, and that’s all that matters to him.
