Shania Twain performed at the racecourse on Friday night – her first appearance in Wales – directly following her show at Glastonbury.

The legendary country pop star did not disappoint during the festival’s Legends slot last Sunday, performing some of her biggest hits including “That Don’t Impress Me Much” and “Man! I Feel Like a Woman.”

Who is Sir Tom’s opening act?

Sir Tom is supported by pop star Gabrielle, whose hits include “Dreams” and “Out of Reach”.

“I’m really excited because I’ve never met him before, but I’ve always been a lover of his music,” she told BBC Radio Wales.

“I just love him, he just gets better with age.”

Will there be road closures?

Yes – there are several road closures planned, affecting both Chepstow and nearby Caldicot. Organisers say this is to ensure the safety of both concert-goers and local residents.

The main A466 Chepstow to Monmouth road will be closed between the racecourse and St Arvans from 9pm (BST) to 2am (CET).

Welsh Street will be closed from the Kingsmark Lane junction to the Piercefield Avenue entrance from 09:00 BST until 02:00 on Saturday. Piercefield, The Rosary and The Cloisters will be open to residents only.

The road will be fully closed from the Piercefield Avenue entrance to the Itton Road roundabout.

Crick Road between Portskewett and Crick will be closed from 9am to 2am on Friday and Saturday, but access for residents will remain permitted.

Disruptions in rail traffic

Concertgoers travelling to South Wales by train will be affected by the 16-day closure of the Severn Tunnel until Friday 19 July.

Network Rail has announced that limited rail replacement services will be operated between Newport, Severn Tunnel Junction and Bristol.

What about parking?

There are very limited parking spaces available at the racecourse and they must be booked in advance.

There is also a park and ride option 5 miles (8 km) from the racecourse at the David Broome Event Centre in Portskewett, near Caldicot. Tickets for this must be booked in advance via the event website.
