John Lodge returns to New Jersey

“I’m just a singer (in a rock’n’roll band).” “Ride My See-Saw.” “Isn’t Life Strange?” These are just a few of The Moody Blues’ mega hits, and John Lodge is their bass guitarist, singer and songwriter. He has been performing and recording with The Moody Blues for over 50 years, while also pursuing a successful solo career. He has even been voted one of the “10 most influential bassists in the world.”

Lodge is from Birmingham, England, and has been playing guitar since he was 13. He now considers the guitar his best friend. And why not? The two get along pretty well.

Lodge is currently touring in support of his album “Days of Future Passed – My Sojourn”. The tour was supposed to start last year, but unfortunately he had, as the public put it, “a serious medical issue” and had to postpone the tour. Thankfully, he is fine and back to what he does best – performing. And luckily for us, his tour will take place in New Jersey State Theatre this July 13th.

Jersey Arts Podcast: He

Jersey Arts speaks to Mr. Lodge about his return to touring, his creative process and how he would advise future musicians to pursue their passion.
