Looking for a series to watch? Apple TV+ is releasing 5 new series in July 2024

Compared to some of the other streamers this month, Apple TV+ actually has a ton of new shows coming in July 2024. And that’s something we avid TV watchers are very happy about! I feel like sometimes I go through productions so quickly that I’m constantly looking for something new. Well, the streamer certainly delivers. Here are 5 new shows premiering on Apple TV+ this month.

Release date: Wednesday, July 10

The first new series in July is Sunny with Rashida Jones as Suzie. The black comedy tells a story about robots that is rooted in emotions and family. I will definitely put this series on my watch list! Suzie, who lives in Kyoto, Japan, experiences a heartbreaking loss – her husband and son disappear in “a mysterious plane crash,” according to the synopsis. As a “consolation,” she gets a household robot named Sunny from her husband’s electronics company.

Suzie enjoys and relies on the “unexpected friendship” that Sunny brings, and the two will be able to find out the “dark truth” about what really happened to their family. Mysteries are always fun when we uncover clues along with the characters! The show premieres on July 10, 2024 with the first two episodes, followed by a weekly episode until the final episode on September 4. There are 10 episodes in total.

Release date: Friday, July 12

Are you looking for a kids and family show to watch with your younger ones? Me is the way to go! The series revolves around Ben, a 12-year-old who is starting middle school and experiencing everything that comes with it – bullies, crushes and school dances, according to the synopsis. The young teenager also has to find his way in a new house, a new school and a new family since his mother has remarried. Maybe all of these changes are the reason why Ben finds out he has superpowers. His stepsister Max will help him find out who he is as Ben.

Me has a total of 10 episodes. The family series stars Lucian-River Chauhan as Ben Vasani, Abigail Pniowsky as Max Davis, Dilshad Vadsaria as Elizabeth Vasani, Amanda Reid as Carter Kennedy, Jessy Yates as Morgan, Kyle Howard as Phil Davis and Sharif Atkins as Darren Kennedy. Finding yourself is hard enough at this age. And the main character has to deal with these superpowers too? He’s in for a real hero’s journey!

Release date: Friday, July 19

If you can believe it, Lady in the Lake is actually Natalie Portman’s first major television role! Previously, the actress only made guest appearances in a few episodes of productions, but did not play the lead role. Instead, the actress has focused on film roles. Now, in a way, she is making her debut on the small screen on Apple TV+. The 7-episode limited series will stream from July 19 with the first two episodes, followed by a weekly episode until the finale on August 23. We have published the release schedule below:

The Portman-directed series follows her character Maddie, a housewife who is “trying to leave her secret past behind and reinvent herself as an investigative journalist,” and Cleo Johnson (Moses Ingram), a mother who is “living the political underbelly of black Baltimore” while trying to provide for her family, according to the synopsis. At first, their stories seem similar, but when Maddie “fixates” on Cleo’s death, “a chasm opens up” that puts everyone in danger.

Time Bandits

Release date: Wednesday, July 24

Another show appearing on Apple TV+ that is suitable for all ages is Time Bandits with Friends star Lisa Kudrow! The series is based on the popular ’80s film of the same name and will debut on Wednesday, July 24th with 10 episodes. The series follows “a ragtag group of thieves” who resurrect 11-year-old history-loving Kevin, according to the synopsis. They all set off on a journey to save his parents and the world. Check out the official synopsis below:

“The eccentric crew of bandits embark on epic adventures as evil forces threaten their conquests and life as they know it. As the group travels through time and space, the gang encounters fascinating worlds of the distant past in search of treasure, relying on Kevin to bring light to every situation. The Time Bandits witness the creation of Stonehenge, see the Trojan Horse in action, escape dinosaurs in prehistoric times, wreak havoc in the Middle Ages, experience the Ice Age, ancient civilizations, the Harlem Renaissance, and much more along the way.”

The fantasy adventure was written by Jemaine Clement, Ian Morris and Our flag means death Actor Taika Waititi. In addition to Kudrow, Tadhg Murphy, Kal-El Tuck, Roger Jean Nsengiyumva, Rune Temte, Charlyne Yi and others are part of the cast. Clement and Waititi will also appear in some episodes.

Release date: Wednesday, July 31

Finally, to end the month, there is a Spanish-language crime drama Women in Blue. Set in 1970, the series is inspired by true events. Four women take the lead and “defy the ultra-conservative norms of the time” when they become the first female cops in a Mexican police department, according to the synopsis. At first they are happy about the opportunity, but soon find out that it is all just a publicity stunt to distract the media from a “brutal serial killer” that authorities have been unable to find.

María, Gabina, Ángeles and Valentina are determined to find the killer themselves and launch a “secret investigation to achieve what no male cop has managed.” Will they find him? I’d definitely put my money on this quartet! The 10-part series will kick off with the first two episodes on July 31st, with a new episode released every week until the finale on September 25th. I’m so excited to watch it! What about you?
