Singer VoTT says now is the time to break a heart

R&B singer and songwriter VoTT is a rising star in the music industry and is letting people know he is here to stay with his latest EP Heartbreakerin which he talks about his life experiences from 2020 to 2024. During this time, VoTT found his inner self and expressed a new sense of confidence and boldness in his music.

VoTT spoke with Roll out about the EP, being a heartthrob and finding balance in his life, as well as advice he would give to single men.

What do you pay attention to when it comes to the creative direction of your music?

I think about the visuals when I’m writing the album, so when I’m writing the album, I often have the visuals already in my head. That’s why you see that synergy and it just fits together because it was already thought out during the production of the actual audio.

Tell us about your song “Heart Breaker”.

That’s a deep question because I’m a Libra. Libras are hard to love because they’re so independent. We’re doers, so Libras are very emotionally closed off most of the time and it just depends. You have to be super close. Libras are hard to trust. Once you go too far, it’s hard to get back in a Libra’s good graces and I think a lot of times Libras are just reserved. Libras are super independent. That’s a natural way of saying, I’m a heartbreaker. It’s telling you to be careful, I’m warning you that I might slip into that mode again and I might break your heart.

When do you know it’s time to break a heart?

Often we are not trying to break anyone’s heart. It just happens. Often people are just fed up. I only say this because my sister is a Libra. It’s amazing how many Libras I know are just reserved people. They don’t like a lot of questions. If you ask a Libra questions, that’s the worst thing you can do because it causes them to shut down. Libras are a boss sign; they are just used to running things and often that can be challenging or intimidating for some people.

What advice would you give to single men?

I would say to those who are single, maximize your time while you are single. There is just so much you can do and I can’t speak for those who are complacent in life. I speak to those who are motivated. I speak to those who have ambitions and dreams and who want to start a business and have that entrepreneurial aspect of their life. I speak to the people who are taking advantage of that time because the whole Heartbreaker The project is international. It’s about all the international travel that I’ve done over the last four years, to many countries. It’s about traveling to those countries and recognizing the opportunities that you actually have here in the States and then taking advantage of them, taking as many of those opportunities as you can and just turning them into some kind of realization.
