Snow Patrol release new single “This Is The Sound Of Your Voice”

Snow Patrol have released their new single “This Is The Sound Of Your Voice” via Polydor Records/Universal Music Ireland.

The song is the second track from the Northern Irish band’s upcoming new album. The forest is the waywhich is scheduled to be released on September 13th and marks the return of the artist after six years, after Wildness.

“This Is The Sound Of Your Voice”, produced by Fraser T Smith (Adele, Dave, Stormzy) and the band, is the sequel to the debut track from the album “The Beginning”, released in May.

The group recently announced details of an eight-date arena tour of the UK and Ireland in 2025, as well as a headlining appearance at Thomond Park Stadium in Limerick, where they will play in front of over 25,000 fans on July 12 this year.

“The Forest Is The Path” was written by band members Gary Lightbody, Nathan Connolly and Johnny McDaid and includes twelve tracks.

Fraser T Smith, Will Reynolds, Roy Kerr and Troy Van Leeuwen (QOTSA) also contributed to some of the album’s songs. The album and single artwork features paintings by Gary Lightbody.

“I haven’t been in a relationship for a very long time, 10 years or more, so love from a distance to me meant how a relationship from a distance of, say, 10 years sticks in your memory. That’s not something I had thought about before, writing about love,” Lightbody said of the album.

“It’s like when you’re in love, you’re standing in the lobby of the Empire State Building. When you break up with that person, you’re on the street. You can still see the building, but you’re not there anymore. And when 10 years have passed, you’re now standing in Brooklyn looking at the Manhattan skyline.”

Snow Patrol will perform at the 3Arena in Dublin on February 25th and at the SSE Arena in Belfast on February 27th.
