Westchester Restaurant Announces Closure: Here’s the Last Day

Port Chester’s Saltaire Oyster Bar and Kitchen at 55 Abendroth Ave. will be open for the last time on Sunday, July 14, owners announced on social media on Friday, July 5.

The owners, Leslie and Elizabeth Barnes, did not publicly disclose a reason for the closure.

The restaurant is known for offering a daily selection of oysters from different regions, including Canada, Northern New England, and even the West Coast. It also features a raw bar and serves sandwiches, salads, steak, and delicious sides like truffle lobster mac and cheese.

Although the oyster bar will soon be gone, the owners have pointed grieving patrons toward its sister restaurant, London Lennies, in Queens at 63-88 Woodhaven Blvd., where patrons can also enjoy a raw bar and order craft cocktails.

The news of the impending closure sparked reactions from commentators on social media.

“We will miss Saltaire!!! Please stay in Westchester!!!!” wrote Lois R.

Michael A. also commented: “I will miss you guys in Port Chester. I will come to Queens, but not as often as I come to Saltaire. I hope you come near here soon.”
