Rescue workers pull teenager and man from Lake Michigan in Muskegon

MUSKEGON, MI – Rescue crews rescued two people from Lake Michigan on Friday, according to the Muskegon Fire Department.

Few details were initially available about the water rescue in Pere Marquette Park.

The Muskegon Fire Department responded to reports of people in distress in Lake Michigan on Friday afternoon, the fire department said in a Facebook post at 4:52 p.m.

A young girl was initially pulled from the water unconscious but is now conscious, the post said. A man who was reported missing was also pulled from the water and brought to shore by a Muskegon County Sheriff’s marine unit.

The man’s condition is unknown.

At around 5:30 p.m., emergency services confirmed that there were no other people in the water, the post said.
