After months of conflicting rumors, Reba McEntire actually seems to be preparing for her departure The voice.

Reba has been a fan-favorite judge since joining the reality TV competition panel in 2023 – but her connection to the show goes back even further, according to a June 2023 NBC article:

“… now (Reba McEntire) is a full-time coach for The voice Season 24! In May 2023, it was announced that McEntire would serve as a coach for the show’s 24th season alongside Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan and John Legend.”

When joining The voices Reba expressed her gratitude to the jury and said:

“I’m excited to be here with all of you, you’ve treated me so well. I really appreciate the hospitality you showed me earlier. And now to come here and form my team, I’m really looking forward to that.”


McEntire’s exit from The voice was confusing, especially because both the network and Reba herself repeatedly denied that she would be leaving for most of 2024.

In February, Reba and The voice made headlines due to persistent rumors that the country music star turned television star was leaving the show.

At this point, McEntire not only denied a specific allegation, she would The voice, She also urged her fans on social media to “report” articles claiming the opposite as fake news.

On February 25, Reba refuted the rumors on Twitter, stating:


“Please do not click on articles that say I am leaving The voice. That is not true.

“These are fake websites designed to lure people with clickbait. They claim that I have a company that sells gummy weight loss products. That is false. I do not sell or promote any gummy products.”

On Instagram, she shared a very similar post with two differences – a screenshot of the content in question and a request to report the article:

A lot of conflicting information about Reba McEntire’s departure The voice made it difficult to confirm her exit, and information about her future on the series seemed to come from two consecutive press releases from NBC about upcoming seasons.

On May 13, NBC unveiled its schedule for the 26th season of The voice, Confirming Reba’s return as a judge for this special season:

“The Queen of Country herself, Reba McEntire, returns for her third batting appearance as a coach on Season 26 of The Voice. In her first season, McEntire brought freshly made hash browns to share with her team, and in Season 25, she swapped the potatoes for chicken tenders.

“In the next season (26), she might even have a personal chef by her side who makes funnel cakes or something.”

Then, on June 5, NBC released “The voice Season 27 coaches announced: Check out the lineup!” Notably, Reba’s exit was not directly articulated.


Rather, NBC confirmed The voices Judges of Season 27, and Reba was not listed among them:

“The coaching lineup for season 27 has been officially announced. The 27th season of The voice will feature a mix of classic coaches and newcomers as John Legend, Michael Bublé, Kelsea Ballerini and Adam Levine sit in their coach chairs.”

Regardless, on May 7, diversity reported that NBC is producing a full season of a new sitcom called Happy’s place, with Reba:

“NBC has given a series order to ‘Happy’s Place,’ the pilot directed by Reba McEntire that the network ordered in January… The multi-cam comedy will premiere during the 2024-2024 broadcast season.

“‘Happy’s Place’ is about Bobbie (Reba McEntire), who inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled when she discovers that she has a new business partner she never knew she had in her half-sister (Belissa Escobedo).”


On June 19, McEntire posted about Happy’s Place on Instagram:
