Bruce Willis’ daughter pays ultimate tribute to her famous father in a rare family update

Emma Heming, wife of Bruce Willis, has shared family news and her 12-year-old daughter Mabel was seen paying the sweetest tribute to her father.

On July 4, the model shared several photos on Instagram of herself and her daughters Mabel and Evelyn (10) celebrating Independence Day.

The trio wore jeans and cowboy hats and watched a parade outside on the street. Emma revealed that Mabel was actually wearing Bruce’s flannel shirt on that special day, and although he wasn’t at the event, his daughter assured that he was with them in spirit.

Emma is making sure that her young daughters have beautiful memories of their childhood during this very difficult time for the whole family. Bruce, 69, is privately battling frontotemporal dementia, which is incredibly difficult for his relatives to bear.

Emma has spoken out on several occasions about the realities that come with caring for someone with FTD and is incredibly honest about the difficulties but also the joyful moments they continue to experience as a family.

Emma recently spoke about her decision to speak publicly about her husband’s struggle and the influence her daughters had on it.

Speaking to Susan Dickinson, CEO of the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, during the AFTD 2024 Education Conference, she said, “I never wanted our daughters to think this was some kind of family secret that we had to keep,” adding, “I felt like it was very important for us to come out and say what it was.”

She continued, “I wanted them to see us go out and raise awareness, and do it on a global level, because that’s the reach their father has. And I know he would have wanted us to do that, so that was very important.”

Emma was later asked what had changed for her and her family when the diagnosis was made public, and she quickly admitted: “I could breathe.” She continued: “I could really breathe out and somehow feel this heavy burden fall from my shoulders.”
