The C8 Chevrolet Corvette has boosted the popularity of the famous Vette name worldwide, and in Japan, customers can now order a new special edition. The new Corvette special model, called the Red Flame Series, will be limited to just 40 units in the domestic market.

Chevy will offer the Red Flame series as a coupe and convertible, splitting production evenly between the two body styles. Half of the vehicles will be painted in Red Mist Metallic Tint Coat, the other half in Carbon Flash Metallic.

All coupe models entering production will come standard with carbon fiber cladding around the mid-mounted 6.2-liter V8. Convertible versions will be fitted with a small transparent panel in the engine bay so owners can see the V8 when opening and closing the roof.

The 20 examples in Red Mist Metallic Tint Coat come standard with full-length dual racing stripes and 5-spoke aluminum wheels in Carbon Flash paint. Other features include red brake calipers and light beige upholstery for the interior. Chevy has also installed GT2 bucket seats and the Stealth interior package.

The configuration of the Carbon Flash Metallic models is slightly different, featuring 20-spoke aluminum wheels with red stripes, while the cabin is finished in Adrenaline Red Dip, which balances out the more subtle exterior paint.

Deliveries begin in September.

Chevrolet has been selling the C8 Corvette in Japan since 2020 and began delivering it to customers in May 2021. The more powerful Corvette Z06 is also sold in Japan, but was only available in a single black-painted configuration when it was launched there.
