Fans of Crazy Town are devastated by the news of the death of the rap-rock band’s lead singer, Shifty Shellshock. The singer died at the age of 49. According to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s records, the singer died on Monday, June 24, at his residence in Los Angeles. The lead singer of Crazy Town leaves behind three children.

Shifty Shellshock’s death has been confirmed by the Los Angeles County Coroner. However, the singer’s cause of death is not yet known and is under investigation. What is known, however, is the fact that the singer suffered from addiction.

In 2022 and 2023, two cases of the rapper driving under the influence of alcohol were reported. The 2022 incident occurred in Los Angeles and also led to Shellshock’s arrest.

In 1995, Shifty Shellshock and Bret Mazur formed Crazy Town, a significant step in the singer’s career. The other members of the band were DJ Rick One, Charles Lopez, Adam Bravin and Mark White.

In 2000, their first album was released. The name of the album was “Butterfly”. The album was a big hit. It made it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. It became popular in various countries such as Norway, Denmark and Austria. The single boosted the sales of the debut album The gift of the game. Sales exceeded 1.5 million. However, the band’s second album was not very successful. It disbanded in 2003. The third album was released in 2015. The title of the bum was “The Brimstone Sluggers”. Also, the band’s name was changed from Shifty Shellshock to “Crazy Town X by Shellshock” in 2017.

A little more about Crazy Town

It all started in 1992 when Binzer met Bret Mazur. The two worked together under the name The Brimstone Sluggers. In 1999, the two founded the group Crazy city. In 2000, the group signed a touring contract with Ozzfest.

However, everything took a turn for the worse when Binzer was arrested just two weeks later for allegedly throwing a chair through a window. Binzer was reportedly drunk at the time.
