Almost every Independence Day, the 34-year-old pop singer gathers her celebrity friends at her Rhode Island residence, creating an iconic tradition.
On July 4, the 34-year-old pop singer took the stage in Amsterdam, where she performed at the Johan Cruijff Arena.

How it all began…

From waterslides to beach days to matching America-style swimsuits, Taylor’s legendary parties in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, have certainly been unforgettable weekends over the years.

The Pennsylvania-born star first organized the annual event at her New England residence over a decade ago and then held it every year until Donald Trump became president, before reviving it last year.

She shared with The Guardian in August 2019 that she stopped hosting her “Taymerica” soirées after the 2016 election due to her “disillusionment” with America.

2013 was the first year the singer came up with the idea of throwing her own Independence Day party, and she decided to start small.

At the first meeting, only her crew and dancers from the Red Tour were present, before she invited some of her best celebrity friends a year later.

For her patriotic night in 2014, Taylor rented a giant slide and took a trip to the beach. Guests included stars such as Emma Stone, Jaime King, Lena Dunham and Andrew Garfield.

They all posed for a luxurious “family portrait” to document the occasion, and followed up with another group photo the next day on a fancy yacht.

2015

In 2015, the singer upped the ante by hosting a host of America’s biggest stars as well as her then-boyfriend Calvin Harris.

From photos posted on social media by those in attendance, it was clear that there was everything from cakes to swimsuits to patriotic pies on display this weekend.

Attendees at the backyard pool party included Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid, Joe Jonas, Serayah, the Haim sisters, Nick Jonas and Martha Hunt.

Gigi and Joe apparently brought some incredible party favors for the guests, creating an American flag onesie for each one.

A photo posted by Martha showed that everyone was in the Christmas spirit in these clothes.

In one snapshot, Ed Sheeran proudly posed in a red military jacket like the one the British Army might have worn during the American Revolution.

“When Ed shows up on the 4th of July in a red coat because he just can’t let it go,” Taylor wrote as a caption under an Instagram post on Saturday.

Taylor also shared a loved-up photo of herself with Calvin carrying her piggyback, along with the caption: “Friendly relations between Scotland and America.”

In case that was too subtle, he also got a temporary tattoo of a heart with Taylor’s initials tattooed on his arm.

The loving duo seemingly couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they hugged and kissed in the water.

In 2017, however, the pop star skipped his annual party for political reasons, and there was no sign of celebrities anywhere in Watch Hill.

The break lasted until last year and also coincided with her relationship with Joe Alwyn, which lasted from 2017 until spring 2023.
