Australian singing sensation Dean Lewis has revealed details of his secret “double life.”

Although 36-year-old Dean is a top musician known for a number of top hits, he can still appear in public “incognito” and is not recognized by his fans.

“I’m back in Australia for three weeks. I’m walking along Manly Beach. Nobody recognizes me,” the singer said on Thursday on the Kyle & Jackie O Show.

Presenter Kyle Sandilands was shocked by the revelation and asked Dean if he ever “looks twice”.

“No, like nobody else,” said the “Be Alright” hitmaker, before hilariously asking Kyle and co-host Jackie O’Henderson what it’s like to be famous.

Australian singer Dean Lewis talks about his “double life” and reveals that he never attracts attention in public.
Despite being a top musician who has written a number of chart-topping hits, Dean, 36, revealed that he can still appear “incognito” in public and go unrecognized by his fans.

He said: “When you (Kyle and Jackie O) walk around, you’re paparazzi and stuff like that. What’s that like? Is that ever cool?”

“That depends on what you want to do,” Kyle replied. “If you just want to shop, that’s fine.”

Jackie agreed and said, “Yeah, there are times when it doesn’t bother you and there are times when it does bother you.”

“It’s hard to explain when you sneak out of a Meriton at three in the morning with a couple of models under your arm. Has that ever happened to you?” asked Kyle.

Presenter Kyle Sandilands was shocked by the revelation and asked Dean (both pictured) if he ever “does a double take”.

Dean claimed he had never experienced anything even close to the level of fame enjoyed by Kyle and Jackie.

“But it’s kind of cool because I get to release these songs and play these great shows. But nobody really cares about me, which is kind of cool,” the musician said.

Kyle expressed his disbelief that Dean likes not getting attention.

“Do you like to remain incognito?” said the shock presenter.

“Yes, because I feel famous when I perform. And then when I leave, nobody cares,” he insisted.

Dean claimed that he was not nearly as famous as Kyle and Jackie, but stressed that he liked not being “famous.”

The singer rose to fame in 2016 with his hit “Waves” and enjoyed further success in 2019 with “Be Alright,” which reached number one on the ARIA charts and stayed at the top for two weeks.

The star recalled that before he rose to fame in 2016, it took him three months to sell out tickets for a show at Sydney’s Factory Theatre, which has an audience capacity of 2,200 people.

The singer is currently playing sold-out shows and will tour Australia later this year, starting in October.
