Thanks to Manish Malhotra, British singer Zayn Malik wore a sherwani! | Fashion News

Forget the brooding pop star – Zayn Malik lets his inner majesty run free and in desi style too.

The 31-year-old heartthrob took a foray into Indian fashion, gracing the July cover of Harper’s Bazaar India in a series of stunning sherwanis by none other than Manish Malhotra, a name synonymous with Indian haute couture. This editorial marks a bold departure from Malik’s usual style and showcases a newfound appreciation for traditional Indian wear with a modern twist.

The former One Direction singer offers three different looks for the spread, including two sherwanis and a tuxedo.

For the first look, Malik wears a sleek black tuxedo by the designer. The shorter length and striped shirt give it a modern touch, while Christian Louboutin shoes and intricate onyx and emerald rings enhance the ensemble.

The second look is a stunning embodiment of Mughal opulence. A bottle green sherwani in soft velvet features intricate Mughal-inspired floral patterns embossed into hexagons. The floor-length silhouette, teamed with a matching silk shirt and trousers, exudes regal elegance. The look is completed with a pair of classic Christian Louboutin shoes and a sleek Breitling watch.

The final look showcases a playful twist on the classic sherwani. A navy blue sherwani has a structured silhouette with bold shoulders and a knee-length hem. The highlight of this look is the exquisite hand-embroidered floral lace design in white, which adds a touch of playfulness to the traditional attire.

A matching silk shirt and trousers complete the ensemble. Shoes by Christian Louboutin and silver rings by Bernand James add the finishing touches to the ensemble.

Zayn Malik’s signature short haircut with a spiked crown complements every look. The clean and fresh make-up with well-groomed brows, tanned skin and full lips ensures that the focus remains on the elaborate clothing.

Festive offer

Malik’s foray into the world of desi fashion is a visual feast for fans across the globe. The editorial not only celebrates cultural fusion but also proves that a timeless appreciation for beauty transcends geographical boundaries.
