Chris Hemsworth explains to his fans why big New Year’s resolutions don’t work

Chris Hemsworth has warned fans that major lifestyle changes for the New Year would not be “sustainable.”
The 40-year-old actor and fitness fanatic, who recently launched his own workout app Centr, made the statement as he urged his fans in an online video to make one “small” change each week in January so they don’t feel overwhelmed when trying to stick to their 2024 resolutions.
In an Instagram video, he said: “Happy New Year everyone. As I sit here and start 2024 with my family and friends, I’ve really had to reflect on the ‘new year, new me’ mentality that’s making the rounds on social media and in the world.
“I have a few thoughts. We as a society need to start pursuing our goals step by step and never in absolute numbers.
“If you flip a switch within yourself when you change your calendar, you will never achieve your goals in the long term – you will only quickly lose courage.
The only way to make lasting progress is to make simple lifestyle changes until they become your new habit – your new routine.”
Chris explained his “challenge” to fans: “I want to challenge anyone out there thinking about their ‘New Year, New Me’ plans to make just one small lifestyle change every week in January.
“For me, it’s my Centr plan. I’m going to incorporate more breathing exercises into my workouts, more meditation, better sleep practices, and finally more functional movements into my exercises.
“If we make small lifestyle changes, we can all live our best lives in 2024.
“New year, new me begins with me taking a step forward and then I will be with you all year. Happy New Year everyone. All the best.”
Chris also captioned his post: “Join in and make #OneSmallChange every week in January to start 2024 with a bang (explosion emoji).”
