The 7 Best Earbuds and Bluetooth Headsets for Phone Calls – Summer 2024: Reviews

The 7 Best Earbuds and Bluetooth Headsets for Phone Calls – Summer 2024: Reviews

In the mid-range, the Sony ULT WEAR Wireless are the best wireless headphones for making calls we’ve tested. Their built-in microphone has decent recording quality, but your voice lacks a touch of airiness and can sound a bit closed off. Thankfully, the microphone does a great job of isolating your voice from ambient noise, so your voice won’t be drowned out if you’re making a call from a busy street. Their ANC feature also does a great job of blocking out noise, especially sounds like roaring engines, so you can hear calls even in noisy environments.

Their inconsistent treble range can make sibilance sound either shrill or muffled out of the box depending on the pitch, but you can always adjust their response via the graphic EQ and presets in the companion app. While they don’t support USB audio like the Razer Barracuda Pro Wireless, they still support multi-device pairing, so you can answer your phone and join an online meeting on your computer without having to pair again.

If you’re looking to save some money, consider the Anker Soundcore Space Q45 Wireless. While the microphone pickup quality isn’t as good as the Sony, the noise isolation is similarly impressive and they’re usually cheaper. The cheaper price comes at a cost, however, and the Anker’s battery life is much shorter at 27 hours compared to the Sony’s 44 hours.
