El Phantasmo confirms Hikuleo is moving to WWE, Shane Taylor praises Will Ospreay

In a recent interview with AEW Unrestricted, Shane Taylor praised Will Ospreay for his performance during their match at AEW Collision in May.

Taylor acknowledged that Ospreay’s skills were truly exceptional and that he was performing at a remarkable level.

He said, Yes and no, I know that’s a weird statement. First things first: All credit goes to Will Ospreay. There are a lot of people in this sport with a lot of headlines, but when Will Ospreay says he’s on a different level, he’s not lying. This man is seriously that good and could very well be the Goat. You talk about Danielson, Ospreay, and even though Ospreay has won, I don’t think he’s quite overtaken Danielson yet. Give him a little more time, maybe five years or something, and that’s a different order of magnitude. But there’s one thing he said to me before he went out there that I actually always say to people, so it was weird to be in the other position. I always tell other people, especially those close to me, to go out there and show them who they are. Remind them and show them why your name is your name. What Will said to me was, ‘You belong here. Brother, you belong here, brother, so show them.” As charged up as I am before fights, that’s all I need. So I’ve been able to do a lot of cool things and be in the ring with a lot of great talent, and this fight with Ospreay is something I’ve always been able to do. I can go that pace and do those things. Then you fight with the psychology of the way some people want you to wrestle and do your thing. The way I do things is not the way a lot of legends in the past, especially the big guys, have done things, but this is a new age, so it’s one of those things where it’s proven that I’m right to bring that athleticism and the ability to work at that pace with such talent, and I can just say, “Yup, I know.”

NJPW has released a video in which El Phantasmo talks about his fight at AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door: 2024 and expresses his feelings of isolation.

Phantasmo mentioned that Hikuleo is close to joining WWE and also said that he felt ignored by Jay White and Juice Robinson at Sunday’s pay-per-view event.

He said, Here we are. Forbidden Door Three in the world famous city of New York City, and I should be happy that ELP can only compete in a ladder match for the TNT title. Of course I didn’t win, but what hurts the most is that you know what’s going on with GoD, the rumors of Hikuleo going to WWE, but this is AEW. Here are Jay (White) and Juice (Robinson). They said they would come to Forbidden Door and support me, and neither of them are here. Neither of them responded to my text messages. I’m hurt, I have no friends. I don’t know what I think about wrestling right now. G1… I’m sorry, I don’t know.
