The Rotary Club’s annual Run the Railyard 5K supports Rogers Parks

ROGERS, Ark (KNWA/KFTA)– Runners in Rogers took to the course this morning for the Rotary Club of Downtown Rogers’ third annual Run the Railyard 5K, a community event to support local parks and charitable causes.

The event, a 3.4-mile run that began at 7:30 a.m., drew dozens of participants, including families and their pets at the Railyard Bike Park.

Nick Ledbetter, former president of the Rotary Club, emphasized the double impact of the fundraiser.

“This event not only benefits our beloved parks here in Rogers, but also supports the broader mission of our Rotary Club,” Ledbetter said. “Today’s participants aren’t just running a race; they’re actively changing lives.”

Ledbetter emphasized the Rotary Club’s commitment to the community, noting that funds raised will benefit local initiatives, such as providing essential facilities to those in need.

“We had another organization, another nonprofit, that needed a kitchen to feed women from abusive relationships and their children,” Ledbetter said. “So they’re not just running a race; they’re helping people and changing lives.”

For those unable to attend the event, Ledbetter encouraged them to donate through the Rotary Club website to ensure continued support for future community projects.
