“It’s wild,” Antonoff said when asked about the success he’s had with both pop stars, calling them “the best.” He also cited the success of Swift’s TTPD “crazy.”

“I work not far away, in a studio called Electric Lady, and I’m up on the roof – it’s kind of like a little apartment up there,” he said of the famous Manhattan music studio. “We make all the records up there, and when a lot of people hear them, it’s a great feeling because we’re kind of enclosed up there.”

Antonoff also gave Today some insights into his writing process.

“You don’t hear a lot of great songs about your lunch order, so the things that you don’t really understand and that hurt you are usually the things worth writing about,” he said, adding that he feels a strong “compulsion” to write music.

When asked where he planned to spend the holiday, Antonoff said: “Tonight? I’m going to the studio. That’s where I have to be.”
