Grocery store “Extremely inexpensive” opens Thursday in Greater Cincinnati

UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) – A locally owned and operated national grocery store chain offering “extreme value for money” is opening its first Greater Cincinnati location at 8 a.m. Thursday.

Grocery Outlet Bargain Market has taken over the former Bed, Bath & Beyond location in the Eastgate Pavillion at Interstate 275 and Ohio 32 in Union Township, Clermont County.

The opening is part of Grocery Outlet’s continued expansion in the Midwest and is intended to help provide the community with easier access to high-quality, affordable groceries, company officials say.

To celebrate the grand opening, store owner Matt Alicea will donate $1,000 to the Lightshine Community Center.

Alicea recently told FOX19 NOW that the store will offer 40-70% off brand name items.

He also says he has hired 40 employees, 10 more than originally planned.

From June 10 through July 18, Eastgate-Cincinnati customers have the chance to win $1,000 worth of groceries.

The store’s first 100 customers on Thursday will receive Grocery Outlet Bliss Buck gift cards in undisclosed amounts ranging from $5 to $500.

All buyers will also receive a limited edition reusable bag for free, while supplies last.

The store is open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
