It will blow the audience away every time a young singer takes the stage AGT and delivers a powerful performance. However, that doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened many times before, and one such audition, perhaps one of the best of the show, took place in season 12. On stage came a shy 13-year-old named Evie Clairtheir emotional interpretation of Christina Perri’s “Arms” still gives me goosebumps today.

Clair was not only incredibly talented, she was also incredibly brave to Inspiration for her performance came from her father’s battle with terminal cancer. Clair admitted that she wanted to honor her father with the performance in a moment that will forever be very emotional. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after Clair finished her audition, and her tribute to her father sent her on her way to this year’s finals. Truly, Clair’s audition is one of the most touching in the show’s glorious history.
