Kesha really went out of her way to celebrate her new song “Joyride” with a wild performance in Atlantic City.

The Take It Off singer celebrated Independence Day with the release of her new single on July 4th and took the stage at the Hard Rock Casino.

The 37-year-old looked incredible as she stepped out in Atlantic City in a glittery outfit and then held up a black T-shirt with the word “Free” in glitter on the front.

Things changed when she picked up a number of props mid-performance and brandished a giant knife during a song – although the reason for this is currently unclear.

At one point, she replaced the knife with a sanitary pad emblazoned with the word “C****” in black pen.

As you do.

Kesha has every reason to be happy at the moment, as “Joyride” is her first new album since leaving Dr. Luke’s record label after a lengthy legal battle.

In 2014, the “Die Young” superstar claimed in a civil lawsuit that the music producer drugged and raped her – allegations he denied.

He then sued her for defamation, claiming that she had fabricated the accusation to get out of her recording contract with Kemosabe Records.

After years of bitter legal disputes, they reached an agreement in 2023, shortly before the trial was due to begin.

“Kesha and Dr. Luke have reached an agreement to settle the litigation and have agreed to issue and publish a joint statement regarding this settlement,” they said in a message at the time.

“Only God knows what happened that night,” Kesha added on Instagram. “As I’ve always said, I can’t tell everything that happened.”

“I look forward to closing this chapter of my life and starting a new one. I wish nothing but peace to everyone involved.”

“While I appreciate Kesha admitting once again that she cannot recount what happened that night in 2005, I am absolutely certain that nothing happened,” Dr. Luke added. “I never drugged or assaulted her and would never do that to anyone.”

“For the good of my family, I fought vigorously for nearly ten years to clear my name.

“It’s time for me to put this difficult matter behind me and move on with my life. I wish Kesha all the best.”

After this ordeal, Kesha has now released “Joyride,” which has been described as “happy” and “optimistic.”

“Don’t try to tell me anything, I’ve earned the right to be this way,” she sang in the song. “Jerky ride, joyride, I just wanna have fun tonight.”
