Niall Horan of One Direction takes part in Boston Common Golf

A former One Direction star enters the world of Boston golf.

Niall Horan has purchased a stake in Boston Common Golf following his investment in the team. He will take on the role of ambassador, according to a statement on the golf team’s website.

Citing the support of Tiger Woods and Northern Irish professional golfer Rory McIlroy, Horan said in the statement that he believes in the success of the league of which the team is a part.

“I can’t wait to experience team golf in this unique format that combines technology with the game on green grass,” said Horan. “To combine my love of the game and my friendship with Rory in a relationship that helps bring a new concept to market in golf is truly special.”

Who is Niall Horan

Horan is a singer-songwriter who was once part of a hugely popular boy band called One Direction.

One Direction consisted of Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Horan. They were active from 2010 to 2016. Since then, the members have gone their separate ways and pursued solo careers.

While in the public eye, Horan became a prominent figure in the professional golf scene, serving as McIlroy’s caddie and appearing at numerous other golf events.

In 2016, Horan and sports industry expert Mark McDonnell founded the golf management company Modest! Golf.

“Niall is a keen golfer and has spent as much time as possible on all golf tours over the last decade, including the Challenge, European and USPGA tours. He is a driving force behind the Modest! Golf business,” Horan’s profile on the Modest! Golf Management website states.
