When Travis Kelce took the stage for a surprise cameo during his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” show in London on June 23, the three-time Super Bowl champion had only one thing on his mind: “Don’t. Screw. It Up.”
“The only thing I told myself is, ‘Don’t drop the baby. Don’t drop Taylor when you walk to that damn couch,'” Travis explained in the latest episode of his hit podcast. New heights, which he hosts together with his brother, former NFL player Jason Kelce.
“The golden rule was: don’t drop Taylor, get her safely to the couch,” he added.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end then quoted his former coach, offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, with some wise advice that referenced his tap-dancing, heel-clicking performance during the Eras Tour.
“Coach Bieniemy always said, ‘In this ball are our dreams, goals and hopes,'” Travis Kelce recalled. “You don’t drop the ball.”

Although Swift was heavily involved in every aspect of her music career – from directing her own music videos to writing her own songs – Kelce was actually responsible for the idea for his brief stage appearance.
“I mentioned it to Tay,” Kelce explained to his older brother. “I thought, ‘How fun would it be if I could just ride one of the bikes during the 1989 Epoch?'”
According to Travis Kelce, his girlfriend initially laughed at the idea. At some point, however, she began to seriously consider whether the NFL star could accompany her on stage and, according to Kelce, asked her new boyfriend if he would really be “willing to do something like that.”
“I was like, ‘What? I’d love to do that, are you serious?’ I’ve seen the show enough times that I might as well just stand in line here,” Kelce replied. “And sure enough, she found the perfect part of the show for me.”
Teamwork makes the dream come true!

In true showmanship, Kelce hinted that his appearance in London might not be his last.
“Huge thanks to Tay for letting me jump on stage with her. Who knows? Maybe it won’t be the last time,” he teased, no doubt sending the Swifties into a frenzy. “You guys have to keep showing up at the ‘Eras Tour’ to see if I jump off the stage or something.”
In fact, Kelce even warned his superstar girlfriend that he could quickly become comfortable performing in front of thousands of screaming and adoring fans.
“Yes. I told her I was like, ‘Yeah, no. That’s how it works. Once I feel comfortable, I just stop listening to what other people say and start doing my own thing,'” he admitted.
Well, Swift (and the rest of us) can’t say she wasn’t warned!
