With a positive vibe in the air, Serena Ittoo counts with us her Top 10 Songs that cheer them up.

1. Coldplay – “The Adventure of a Lifetime”

“This song always lifts me up. It’s full of energy lyrically and sonically. If I had to choose one song as the soundtrack to my life, I would choose this one.”

2. Harry Styles – “Golden”

“You know you’ve rocked a song when you can capture that much energy in it. I think it sounds really authentic and pure. Probably one of my favorite songs ever.”

3. Miley Cyrus – “Flowers”

“I love this because the lyrics and melodies are so uplifting and sing of self-love, resilience and confidence. However, the production authentically conveys Miley Cyrus’ heartache and pain, especially through the strings in the chorus (you can feel it). You never know how much someone has been through unless you’re in their shoes. I think Miley Cyrus made a big statement with this and only those who sympathize with her will truly understand.”

4. Jon Bellion – “Holy” (Demo)

“Yes I love Justin Bieber and his release of “Holy”. I know he wrote this with Jon Bellion and other writers as well! I’m a huge fan of Jon Bellion’s music but I still wanted to pick this one specifically because I love his version/demo. I’m a Catholic Christian so this really speaks to me on a soul level. I always say love is a powerful force and Jon Bellion captures just that, love on a soul level, through his voice and his own authentic soul. I love how this song was able to express so much thanks to Justin Bieber’s authenticity, journey and heart!”

5. Justin Timberlake – “Mirrors”

“This is my favorite song of all time and has been since 2013. Every time I heard it, it triggered something in me. I never knew exactly why; I always saw it as a sign that everything was going to be OK and I was on the right path. The people close to me know that this is ‘my song’. When they hear it, they point it straight in my direction because they know it has meaning to me. It feels sacred to me without it actually being in the lyrics or title.”

6. Angèle & Dua Lipa – “Fever”

“This reminds me of my wonderful mother Sarah (laughs). This is her favourite Dua Lipa song. My mother is really good at listening to good music and playing it for me and my brother Ryan until we love it as much as she does.”

7. Jonas Brothers – “Sail Away”

“Another collaboration with Jon Bellion! I love this song by the Jonas Brothers. It’s uplifting and fun to listen to. Everything is so well thought out. It makes me happy! Did you notice again that it talks about spiritual love?”

8. Ne-Yo – “Miss Independent”

“I chose this because it reminds me of my childhood, especially my time in elementary school. I always say childlike innocence is everything, so I like to listen to songs that make me nostalgic. It makes me happy.”

9. Athena Cage – “All or Nothing”

“When I was about four, my mother put together a book of stories with music for me. She cut and edited selected parts of songs so that the lyrics described my personality or the messages she wanted to convey to me. This song is the last song on my book… and I think the message speaks for itself.”

10. Michael Jackson – “Off the Wall”

“I could have made a top 10 (or 100) of just Michael Jackson songs, but if I had to pick one that lifts me up… it would be this one! Lyrically, vocally and sonically, it’s just a tremendous amount of high vibrational energy that you always need. The perfect song to end my top 10.”
