DJI Mimo app update brings great benefits for Action 4 users

DJI has announced major updates to its Mimo app, bringing enhanced features to Osmo Action 4 camera users. The updates aim to provide an improved video creation experience by allowing you to effortlessly create high-quality, engaging content.

Here are the key improvements in Mimo app v2.0.8 that make the $299 Osmo Action 4 an even more versatile tool for capturing and sharing adventures:

FIT file import: A standout feature of the improved DJI Mimo app is the ability to import FIT files from bike computers. This integration allows you to add detailed metrics such as speed, route, distance and elevation directly to the camera videos, creating a comprehensive overview of your cycling adventures.

Master color presets: DJI makes its professional color schemes available exclusively for Osmo Action 4 users, allowing you to add stunning cinematic quality to your videos. Plus, you now have more control over exposure, brightness, contrast and highlights to optimize footage.

AI-assisted editing: The Mimo app now comes with AI-powered editing, simplifying the video creation process. With creative templates and one-tap edits, you can quickly create professional-quality videos. This feature is especially useful for those who want to create engaging content without spending hours editing.

Other advanced features: The update also includes advanced features such as variable speed controls, aqua filters and color restoration that expand your creative possibilities. In addition, videos can now be enhanced with stickers and watermarks to ensure brand consistency and a professional presentation.

It’s worth noting that these updates come at a time when the US FCC has cleared a new product called the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro for release. Speculations revolve around the possible inclusion of a 1-inch sensor, a notable upgrade over the current model’s 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor. This would also bring the DJI Osmo Action series more in line with rivals like the Insta360 One R, which boasts a 1-inch edition co-developed with Leica, and the Insta360 Ace Pro with its 8K capabilities. DJI’s latest handheld camera, the Osmo Pocket 3, also features a 1-inch sensor.
