Spalding University’s voice and vision come to the 21c summer reading series

Presented by the Naslund-Mann Graduate School of Writing at Spalding University, the Louisville Review and the 21c Museum Hotel present five authors: “Voice and Vision,” the next program in the annual summer reading series, takes place Wednesday, July 17 at the 21c Museum Hotel in downtown Louisville.

The July lineup includes authors Kelly E. Hill, author of the Louisville novel “A Home for Friendless Women”; Amy Roblero Perez, a 2022 Governor’s School for the Arts creative writing graduate and 2023 Kentucky Youth Poet Laureate; Kentucky knitter and poet Danni Quintos of Affrilach, president of the Kentucky State Poetry Society; author Katerina Stoykova, founder and editor-in-chief of Accents Publishing; and actor and playwright Terry Tocantins, whose recent play “Drunky McGee” was a semifinalist at the O’Neill National Playwrights Conference.

The event will be hosted by Lynnell Edwards, associate program director of the Naslund-Mann Graduate School of Writing and book review editor of the program’s literary journal, Good River Review. Edwards is also the author of six books of poetry.

This is the eleventh season of the series. The theme in 2024 is connecting the region’s vibrant literary and visual arts scene. The evening begins with an art talk by Hunter Kissel, museum director of the 21c Museum Hotel. The event is free and open to the public. Free light snacks and beverages will be provided.
