On July 3, KST, Wheesung shared on his social media that his upcoming album, VERY SLOWLYwill be a full-length record for over-19s. He added that the album is 40% complete and may be released in the winter.
Wheesung also warned his fans that they should avoid his upcoming album if they have an aversion to provocative media.
The content is explicit, so listeners who normally have a strong aversion to provocative media shouldn’t have too high expectations… I’ve occasionally released R&B numbers like this since my debut, and this isn’t a particularly unusual move, but I wanted to alert you in advance.
— Wheesung
Meanwhile, the singer was charged in 2019 with purchasing and regularly administering propofol 12 times within three months. He received a one-year prison sentence with two years’ probation and a fine of 60.5 million KRW (about 43,700 USD).
Wheesung, best known as an R&B singer and record producer, made his solo debut in 2002 and has been a household name in the industry ever since. His singing activities were put on hold following his indictment in 2019 until he celebrated his return with a 20th anniversary concert last year.
