“I want to be famous again”: Kevin Bacon’s rude awakening after being a normal person for a day
Actor Kevin Bacon discovered that being a “normal person” is much harder than he thought.
The 65-year-old, who has a 47-year career behind him, shared Vanity Fair that he has always dreamed of spending the day as a non-celebrity.
But he felt his face was too unique to just walk around in any old disguise. “I’m not complaining, but I have a face that’s pretty recognizable,” he told the outlet. “Putting on my hat and glasses is only going to work to a certain extent.”

One day he realized he could make his dream come true – ironically with a little movie magic.
Bacon decided to go one step further and “hired a special effects makeup artist, consulted with him, and asked him to make me a prosthetic costume” with a plot that could have come straight out of a crazy movie.
With his false teeth, a new nose and glasses in tow, the Unbound The star headed to LA’s tourist hotspot, an outdoor mall called The Grove, to get a taste of the simple life.

He thought the disguise worked well – a little too well, as the actor didn’t like his own medicine.
“Nobody recognized me,” he realized after the wake-up call.
“People were kind of pushing past me and not being nice. Nobody said, ‘I love you.’ I had to wait in line to, I don’t know, buy a damn coffee or whatever.

“I thought to myself: This is crap. I want to be famous again.”
It is not the first time that this idea has come up A few good men Spirit of the star.
Bacon grew up as the son of successful Philadelphia city planner Edmund Bacon, which gave him a taste of fame at a young age.
“I saw people recognizing him when he walked down the street, and seeing that was definitely a big driving force in my life. Honestly, I wanted to be more famous than him. And you can put me on the psychiatrist’s couch. We could talk about it for a while. But it was definitely a motivator,” he said.
Fortunately, his parents encouraged his artistic endeavors and those of his siblings, leading to his prolific film career that spanned nearly five decades and numerous genres.
