The manga focuses on Akoko Sekikawa, a straightforward second-year student who acts quickly and cannot fool herself or others. She is always with her friend Mitsuki Taniguchi, who she has been in class with since third grade. At the beginning of the school year, they are in the same class as Naomi Mitomo, who, despite being a year behind in grade, continues to be adored by the students. Akoko falls in love with him at first sight and immediately makes advances to him, but Mitsuki is unimpressed and feels that it is not real love. When Akoko asks Naomi if she wants to go out with her, she is immediately rejected, but learns from Naomi’s friend the real reason why Naomi does not want to go out with anyone, so she continues to make advances to her. Meanwhile, an increasingly close relationship develops between Mitsuki and Naomi.

Kōda published the manga in Shueisha‘S Bessatsu Margaret Magazine in September 2017. The manga ended with its fourth volume in January 2019.

Yen Press published Kōda’s No longer a heroine And My special one Manga in English.
