Death of Steve Sweeney: Kathy Burke pays tribute to the actor from “Lock, Stock and Nil By Mouth”

Kathy Burke paid tribute to her Nil through the mouth Co-star Steve Sweeney, who died at the age of 74.

The actor appeared as Danny in Gary Oldman’s 1997 directorial debut, but was perhaps best known for his role as Plank in Guy Ritchie’s 1998 film Jack, Queen, King, GRAS.

Burke wrote to her followers on X/Twitter on Thursday (June 20): “Heard the sad news last night that British actor and old friend Steve Sweeney has passed away.

“He was brilliant in many theatre and film productions, including Restricted stock and Nil through the mouth and was a favorite of the brilliant director Alan Clarke.

She concluded the post with: “Once met, never forgotten. Rest in peace mate.” Sweeney’s cause of death is unknown.

As well as Nil through the mouth And Castle, warehouseSweeney played the lead role in the film by screenwriter and director Jasmin Dizdar Nice people and British show The bill, Dalziel and Pascoe And Murphys Law.

His other achievements included several stage productions, the 1982 television film Made in the UK and series 1983 nannyin which he played Frank Halley.

Sweeney also appeared in EastEnders in 1993, in which he played two supporting characters: “Snip” Gibbons and Clive.

He was most recently seen in the comedy “Zac Efron” and “Russell Crowe”. The biggest beer run of all timewhich was released in 2022.

Over the years, Sweeney also worked as a producer and casting director. Restricted stockSweeney’s character is killed after being shot by Rory Breaker (Vas Blackwood).

Burke’s comments section was flooded with tributes to Sweeney.

“I’m so sorry this is really sad, he was a really good actor. Way too young,” wrote one fan, and another wrote, “I’ll always remember him as Plank but he was great in all the movies he was in. RIP to a great actor.”

Another fan added: “I’m so sorry Kathy. This is really sad news. My condolences to his family and friends. I thought he was a great actor too.”
