NFL New Orleans Saints star wide receiver Chris Olave surprises youth basketball team

San Diego (KUSI) – It’s all about giving back and former Mission Hills star wide receiver and Ohio State standout Chris Olave is surprising the youth with brand new Ja Morant basketball shoes. Olave, who was the New Orleans Saints’ best receiver last year, wanted to do something cool for the team. “Our head coach Rodney, his nephew Chris came to him and said I want to do something for the kids. I want to give them shoes, these kids are going to absolutely love it. They’re going to think it’s the greatest thing ever,” said San Diego Sharks President Stephen Winters.

“He never lost sight of where he came from. He’s the most humble kid ever, and people like him giving back is something you don’t see anymore,” said Rodney Graham, coach of the San Diego Sharks. “You can see how excited the kids are when they see that. We need more of that in our communities.”

“When I heard Chris’ dad talk about the autograph, I was so excited,” said RJ Graham, a guard on the team. “It’s crazy and then he brought out the shoes, I just thought, these are really cool shoes.” “I was speechless. In that moment, I was so grateful for everything Chris Olave has done for us.”
