Although there are many patriotic songs in country music, there are few artists whose names are synonymous with red, white and blue. Toby Keith is undoubtedly one of the biggest fans of the United States and those who defend it every day.

Toby Keith’s love for America

Keith was a staunch supporter of the American way of life. He was proud to call himself a citizen of these United States, and he was not afraid to call out those who would do us wrong. How else could you write a song like “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue”?

The country singer was also a huge supporter of the men and women in the armed forces. In 2002, he began performing regularly overseas on numerous USO tours, entertaining troops in Afghanistan, Cuba, Djibouti, Guam, Iraq, Bosnia, Kosovo, Macedonia, and Kyrgyzstan, among other places.

Over the course of his life, he was on 18 USO tours and performed more than 300 shows in 17 different countries for more than 250,000 troops. It’s no wonder the USO awarded him the Spirit of the USO Award.
